Bill Manhire's new volume,
Lifted, fondly remembers a Louis Simpson poem with a typo about a Soviet dictator called Joseph Stain, and the tale of a compositor wondering who this Stan character is they're always talking about in
Paradise Lost.
In 'Palais Lutetia' he writes:
